Thale Ileen Balding

Thale Ileen Chubb-Balding 86, went to the Lord on Thursday June 30th after a short time at Emmanuel Lutheran in Kalispell, after a fall.

Born November 14th 1935 to Howard and Gertrude Chubb in Wolf Point Montana. She moved to Columbia Falls in the summer of 1936 with her parents to property they purchased from Stoltze Lumber Company.

She attended Columbia Falls Schools, graduated 1954.

She and Samuel Deardurff were married August 11th 1954. They had three sons, Michael, Daniel and Timothy. Living in Shelby and Whitefish Montana and Camp Pendleton California. Thale lived in the Flathead Valley all her life, where she lived until her death on her family land on Chubb Lane, Columbia Falls.

Multiple jobs over the years, Telephone operator, Anaconda Aluminum Co., Flathead County Nursing home,ending with Activity Director at Brendan house in Kalispell. Her retirement time was spent with her group of ladies “kitchen band” who played for Nursing homes and the Veterans home. They also had a Sunshine chorus group that traveled and sang.

February 14th 2001, she married Donald Balding in CD'A Idaho. Living on Flathead lake enjoying the view and the summer evening boat rides. Don preceded her in death May 13th 2008, she is also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Valeria, granddaughter Danielle Deardurff and her son Daniel Deardurff. Survived by son Michael (Karen) Deardurff, son Timothy Deardurff, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A celebration of Thale Ileen Chubb-Balding’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 827 9th St W Columbia Falls, MT 59912. Family and friends may begin to visit on Friday starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow services at Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbia Falls, MT.
