Norman L. Heindel, 87, of Kalispell died at the Brendan House of natural causes on December 19, 2019. Norman was born April 18, 1932 at Singleshot, MT, a whistle stop on the Railroad between Essex and Marias Pass. Born to Norman and Elma Heindel. The family moved to Kalispell about 1939, where he was raised and educated, Norman met his future wife, Joyce Hanson in 1950. They were married in 1952 and spent 51 years devoted to each other in sickness and in death. His first home was in Evergreen, they moved to Columbia Falls about 1982. Norman moved back to Kalispell in 2012 with his daughter, Debbie.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elma, his wife Joyce, one son Kenneth, two daughters Pam and Susan, and one granddaughter Sara. Sister Peggy and husband Charlie Aurand. He is survived by one son, Don Heindel and wife Kimberly of Whitefish, two daughters Debbie Heindel and Penny Nyborg both of Kalispell. Two brothers Gordan and wife Mary Jane and Dale and wife Myra of Kalispel. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. His special friend Donna Rhine of Columbia Falls.
Norman spent most of his life working in the food service, he worked for Safeway and Fred Meyers grocery stores. He also owned and operated T and N catering in the 70’s. He was President of Kalispell Ealges #234 in 1978 and 1979. In Columbia Falls he cooked at the Pines, Canyon, Columbia and Bandit. Norman cooked for the State of Montana for three summers at The Biological Station at Yellow Bay. Norman was also a member of the Whitefish Christian Church and member of Moose Lodge #1922.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. December 28, 2019 at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
