Karen Christine Mastrandrea

Karen Christine Mastrandrea, age 68 years, of Essex, MT, after an extended mental illness passed away July 2, 2022. She was born August 23, 1953 in Coronado, CA to Leon R. Shelley and Dorothy Shelley (Brown).


Karen was active in life, and loved working out in the gym. She also enjoyed hiking the outdoors, especially in the Essex MT, area.
As a professional, Karen was a Regional Mortgage Manager with Sears 'Mortgage. Karen's next endeavor was purchasing and managing five franchise Curves for Women. Locations included Moses Lake, Snohomish and the greater Seattle area. She finished her career with REACH, Juneau Alaska, as a supervisor for the mentally impaired.


Her favorite sports teams included the Seattle Seahawks, and University of Washington Huskies. Karen was once president of the Chi Omega sorority at San Diego State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, San Diego State University.


Karen is survived by her husband of 22 years, Robert Mastrandrea; children: Jaime Freeman, Michael Freeman, and Scott Freeman; several grandchildren; sisters: Karla and Kathy; and brothers, Michael, Patrick and Tim.
