Curtis J. Wellington, 55, of Whitefish, MT passed away on Sunday August 8th, 2021. Curtis was born on December 22nd, 1965 in Great Falls, MT. He grew up with his family in Whitefish where he attended Whitefish high school and graduated with the class of 1984. In high school he excelled both in the classroom and in his athletics. After high school he moved to Oregon where he spent most of his adult life and attended Willamette University. Curtis then married Jean Engelke also of Whitefish and together they had a daughter. He pursued a career as a sales representative for Sherwin Williams for almost 20 years before moving back to his home town and working at Lowe’s in Kalispell. Curtis enjoyed traveling to live concerts,fly fishing,sports and spending time with his family. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Cincinatti Reds fan. Curtis greatest accomplishments in his life was raising his daughter and becoming a grandpa. He was blessed with two grandsons who he loved deeply and they brought him so much joy in his life. He was very proud of his role as their grandpa and enjoyed talking about his family. He was an amazing father, grandpa, son and brother. Curtis can be remembered as being a kind, nice, funny, witty man and always had a John Wayne phrase for you. Curtis is survived by his daughter Ali and her husband Josh and two grandsons Colton & Wyatt Keller, mother Roberta Wellington and stepfather Mike Spint, brothers Cory Wellington and Ryan Wellington,sister Ramona Hayes,stepsister Jane Hoyt and stepbrother Kevin Wellington, followed by his nephews and nieces. Curtis is proceeded in death by his father Jerry Wellington, brother Douglas, grandparents Alfred and Gladys Baumgartner, and grandparents Art and Louise Labrie. A private funeral will be held for the family and Curtis will be laid to rest peacefully in Choteau, Mt. The family asks in Curtis true strength of having a rare muscular disease, Inclusion Body Myositis, anyone wanting to make donations could donate in Curtis honor to the Myositis Association at Myositis.org.
